Friday’s RFA 42 card proved a solid night of fights, especially if you’re fond of submissions.

The event took place at Visalia Convention Center in Visalia, Calif., and the main card aired on AXS TV.

In the main event, Christos Giagos (13-5) strengthened his case for a UFC return and again made a plea to UFC officials for the opportunity after earning a unanimous-decision victory over fellow lightweight Arthur Estrazulas. If he doesn’t get another shot in the UFC, where he went 1-2 in his first stint, an RFA title shot is likely next for the 26-year-old.

Elsewhere on the card, a trio of fighters picked up submission victories. Lightweight Anthony Avila (13-4) choked out Cody Bollinger (18-6), Davi Ramos (5-1) submitted Mike Flach (7-2) in a 159-pound catchweight bout, and flyweight Steve Gruber (6-3) used some striking to set up an eventual submission win over Shai Lindsey (4-2).
